Hainburg (January 23, 2006) – Furthering its worldwide expansion, CGS Publishing Technologies International GmbH announced today it has appointed HGS, Moscow as the central distributor for Russia and the CIS countries.
For several years, HGS has provided solutions for the graphic arts industry, including prepress, printing and postpress. HGS represents well-known companies such as MAN-Roland, Dainippon Screen, Ryobi and Wohlenberg with over 100 application specialists – trained regularly at HGS suppliers. HGS operates branch offices in all major Russian centers of industries, as well as the Ukraine, Belorussia and Kazakhstan. Several HGS prepress specialists have already intensively trained at CGS Germany, enabling them to carry out product trainings and installations immediately. HGS will also deliver the extensive range of CGS proofing papers from its facilities in Moscow.
The entire ORIS product line premiered at the recent seminar hosted by HGS, but the main emphasis, in addition to prepress products, will be on ORIS print optimization products, specifically ORIS Ink Saver™.
“We are absolutely delighted to win HGS over as our distribution partner for the Russian markets,” remarked CGS European Executive Sales Director, Heiner Mueller. “From our perspective, the current HGS product portfolio and the ORIS range of products are an ideal fit, especially following our recent OEM agreement with Dainippon Screen. Ongoing standardization and automation of production require competent partners that cover all aspects of the process and are able to offer full solutions to customers.”
“HGS and CGS have the same philosophy when it comes to customer service and competence,” added Irena Sulakova, head of HGS technical department. “For us, the ORIS products have a high strategic importance, as they go far beyond the creation of digital proofs. In our markets too, customers are increasingly demanding consistent color across the entire production, be it offset, flexo or large format printing. With CGS, we have found an important partner, whose products ideally meet those requirements.”
“We at CGS see Russia and the CIS countries as important markets,” noted Mueller. “Traditionally, graphic arts companies in these countries have a very high quality level and demand a great deal from manufacturers and suppliers.”
