Hong Kong (February, 26 2007) – CGS Publishing Technologies International, the global leader of color management solutions, production workflow technology and specially-formulated media, collaborates with Adobe to provide the most comprehensive proofing technology to the publishing industry.
CGS recently joined Adobe in its launch of Acrobat 8® in front of over 100 attendees at the Adobe offices in Hong Kong. Adobe Acrobat 8 professional software enables business professionals to reliably create, combine and control Adobe PDF documents for easy, more secure distribution, collaboration and data collection. Together with Wacom Technologies, CGS demonstrated the latest in publishing technology, including soft proofing, at the Adobe event.
CGS’ ORIS Soft Proof provides a practical, integrated approach to color collaboration and approval with the speed and convenience of display-based approval systems. The proof can be viewed by print designers and producers with Adobe Acrobat. The Adobe product’s powerful color measurement and annotation tools can be used at any time to record user feedback, and legally-binding digital signatures may be attached to the file. The annotation tools may be used locally, or as part of a collaborative, online review process.
In addition to its soft proofing technology, CGS also showcased its complete product line, covering every stage of the printing process – from print specification and publishing to creative design, prepress, printing and delivery. Today, CGS Publishing Technologies helps over 10.000 organizations establish business processes to enable consistent, predictable print production that can be done anywhere in the world.
“We are thrilled to be in the company of a world-class technology leader like Adobe,” said Christoph Thommessen, Sales Director Asia/Pacific, CGS Publishing Technologies. “Acrobat 8 is an incredibly powerful product and together with the CGS proofing suite, we provide a color managed workflow from design all the way to delivery of the final product. With our soft proofing plug-in into Acrobat, we can achieve outstanding color reliability and predictability. The CGS tools automatically check the incoming file, the profile loaded and the calibration of the monitor. The advantages for users are obvious – shorter turnaround times and no arguments regarding color.”
“Adobe would like to take this opportunity to express our deep and sincere appreciation to CGS for their support throughout the Efficient Workflow of Color Proofing Seminar,” remarked LOK Wai Keung, Business Development Manager for Adobe Systems Hong Kong, Ltd. “With the integration of CGS and Wacom products, Acrobat 8 becomes a completed color management solution for our creative professionals. I look forward to working with CGS again in the future.”
