CHICAGO/HAINBURG/MINNEAPOLIS, September 10, 2007 – CGS Publishing Technologies International, the global leader of color management solutions, digital proofing systems and specially-formulated media, today announced the release of ORIS Certified Press. CGS will be showcasing the new product, designed to provide comprehensive measurement of press condition and compliance with industry standards at Graph Expo 2007, McCormick Place South, Chicago.
ORIS Certified Press quickly enables you to measure dot gain (TVI), primary colors and grey balance,” said Trevor Haworth, president and CEO of CGS Publishing Technologies. “Variations in press parameters can be instantly spotted and corrected giving you confidence that the press is running to standard saving you wastage and protecting you from costly re-makes.”
ORIS Certified Press provides substantial benefits to the industry including control of spot colors; generic output profile support; new soft proofing features and rapid automatic color matching and calibration. With the new product, control strips are designed small enough that they can be read with common hand-held scanners. Individual control strips can also be used and spot colors can be measured in single patches or strips – being compared to the saved data of spot colors such as Pantone and HKS color. All measurements are secure and can be used for trend analysis, and changes in quality can be controlled over any period of time.
ORIS Certified Press along with ORIS Certified Proof and ORIS Certified Monitor completes ORIS Certified Suite, the ideal color quality assurance control system for the graphic arts industry. ORIS Certified Suite provides simple, trackable proof output measurement using “pass-fail” reports to accurately meet SWOP, FOGRA, 3DAP, GRACoL and other standards. ORIS Certified Suite can be used for any hardcopy or virtual proof or press sheet, regardless of the system or software that was used to create it.
ORIS Certified Press supports spectrophotometers such as the X-Rite Eye-One and the Techkon Scan Spectrometer RS 800. The product is currently on display at Graph Expo 2007, booth #5211.
