HAINBURG/MINNEAPOLIS, January 18, 2008 – At the latest TAGA Italia Shout in Verona, Italy, CGS Publishing Technologies International received singel standing high marks. CGS was the only participant to earn perfect scores for its color management solutions ORIS Color Tuner and ORIS Press Matcher. This year, for the first time, TAGA included a special color management. This included color management and topics such as soft proofing and remote proofing. CGS was the only company amongst four competitors to receive the highest marks for its proofing results and color management solution.
Test proofs were supplied to all shoot out participants.with the task to match various output devices. Participants were allowed to use either the TAGA supplied ICC profiles or to produce their own color matches using their own profiling software. CGS decided to use its own profiling techniques and made the print outs on various devices, including Xerox DC 260, Epson 4880 and HP Z 3100.
The Italian Association of Graphic Arts Technicians (TAGA Italia) was established more than 20 years ago. TAGA Italia is closely aligned with TAGA (Technical Association of the Graphic Arts) in the United States, from which its founding members originated. Its objectives are to unite graphic arts professionals across prepress, press, and postpress disciplines, to improve the study of graphic arts processes, to disseminate useful training and documentation and to generally share the knowledge of its members for mutual benefit.
